Decorative Concrete Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can you work with my exiting concrete floor ?

We most certainly can, What ever may be the condition of your exiting concrete Narrows Construction has the experience and skills to refurbish that concrete with a Decorative finish of your choice .

What Decorative Concrete options do I have to choose from with your company?

That depends on the condition of your floor. We offer a wide range of Decorative Finishes , ranging from a Grind and polished floor with a very low maintenance finish, to Micro Tops with Acid Stained Finishes. We also can provide Epoxy Finishes and cement Overlays with a variety Stamp patterns and colors to choose from.

My interior concrete floor is covered with paint , glue , and has many cracks in it. Can it just be cleaned up?

Narrows Construction can mechanically remove the glue , Paint , Epoxy , or whatever is on your floor. We can repair the cracks and apply a Micro top Finish . When we are complete with the work , you will have a new natural gray concrete floor. If you like any color or combination of colors can be added.

How long does it take to do the work?

That would depend on the condition of your floor and what type of finish you would like to see applied . Based on 1000 square ft. A Grind and polished floor finished to 1500 metals ( grit of the Diamonds ) takes about one week. Overlays usually take a little longer due to the coloring process and the amount of time required between applications, as well as the types of sealers we use and drying time.

Should I have my Decorative Concrete Sealed?

Narrows Construction believes this is a must. To us it does not matter if your concrete work is inside or outside , simply by walking on your new finish will ware the color off. Sun light will also bleach it away. Left unsealed water can migrate into it and if the work is outside would be susceptible to Freeze thaw. Sealers act as a ware surface and will protect your Decorative Concrete.

How often should the Decorative Concrete be resealed?

If it is an Acrylic sealer than we suggest once a year or at least once every two years. If it is a Polyurethane, once every 3, 4 years should be fine.

What is the lifespan of Decorative Concrete Micro Tops or Overlays?

The Decorative Concrete Overlay is as durable as the concrete it is bonded to and should last many years with the proper cleaning and maintenance as recommended above.

Can damage to my Decorative stamped concrete be repair?

Yes it can , it depends on the extent of the damage but in most cases repair is an option we can provide.

I was thinking of repainting my home but I am concerned the colors wont match my concrete, what can you do?

If you would like to change the paint color on your home or re-landscape your yard, we can change the color of your decorative stamped concrete to match so dont worry.
